Thursday
Tomorrow is the first game! (Preseason) but still. things are exciting/busy/but cool in general. I am pumped for the game and to see my stuff in person printed and everything!!!! On top of this..today i worked on doing a touchdown zone pass and a countdown clock to the game. Both were fairly easy seeing as once you get a template it is all uphill and easy sailing from there. I also worked on some editing for the playbook for life (i think we are finally done) and a map.
Wednesday
Wednesday marks the end of the Playbook for Life for the sports lab! finally done with it and glad! Well...the first go round is done but it always seems like more revisions pop out of nowhere. I also finished the white boards for the sports lab and are ready for production. Cool, cool stuff. I also worked on coming up with ideas for the red friday banners schools would put up on gamedays.

Monday, August 8th
I spent most of the day finishing up the Playbook for Life and officially got it all done and ready for approvals. I also had to make a small tweak to a map for the website for ticket holders. It seems like I have also been doing a lot of Sports Lab type things lately and that continued. I started a new project for the Sports Lab creating 14 by 12 boards with trivia questions for kids when they go into the sports lab. There would be 4 boards but all would have the same basic template.

Thursday
It is all about the Playbook for Life. I spent the whole day and finished it so now we just have to revise it on Monday. I even squeezed in some other stuff near the end of the day. I made some edits to some maps people could download off the website as well as a banner for the "Pick 5" ticket option.
Wednesday
Not too much going on today except the Playbook for Life. This project has become a bigger time investment than we planned. Essentially all the fonts were outlined and ungrouped and layed out in Illustrator so things were harder than we thought they would be. I will continue to work on this.

Tuesday, August 2nd
Tuesday seemed like on of the longest days. I spent almost the whole day on the playbook for life. On this project I am editing an original book, 32 pages, updating colors, fonts, etc. Not my most glamorous day but someone has to do it! It is mostly updating the red colors in the book to our NEW red color, CMYK 20 100 80 0. On top of this we also need to fix broken links and fonts along with cleaning up some of the vector illustrations that are in there. It is a pretty cool book and I think kids will think it is pretty cool. The idea is that they would go to the Sports Lab (powered by Blue KC) and receive this book. Then they would fill out the book with their info. It is like a personal/interactive thing. Pretty cool stuff for a kid. Anyways, tomorrow I will finish it up and most likely get some new projects.

Monday, August 1st
Monday was filled with stuff. My project list was big, it included sports lab pins that kids could wear, a Red Friday spirit banner that schools would hang on Fridays to support the Chiefs, editing the Playbook for Life still, cheer buttons for the website, suite maps (a long on going project), sports lab sign, and a map change for the stadium ticket pricing. After all this I also managed to resize an ad from our sNAP size to our Yearbook size.

Friday, July 31st
Friday I was assigned editing projects, one big one in particular. We have a Sports Lab "Playbook for Life" that is in our old Chiefs red , CMYK 10 100 100 0. I had to go and update all the red to our new red, CMYK 20 100 80 0. On top of the color edits there were some vector illustrations that needed to be changed and tweaked. I also worked on the lost kids wristbands and sent off three versions to choose from. These two projects took most of the time and I have not finished the Playbook yet. I will continue to work on it next week. Thrown in the middle I had to work on the Tower Club Suite map which I created from schematic drawings. This also was time consuming. I will continue to work on it Monday or sometime next week.

Thursday, July 28
It has almost slowed down in a way here at the Chiefs with a lot of people heading to training camp. I was busy but not as busy as usual. On my list of projects, I had to work on a lost kids wristband that I have been on and off doing for a couple of weeks. It would be for members of the kids club who for some reason if they got lost at a game. I also worked on a map for one of the suites here at Arrowhead. Basically, I was making a more viewable map from schematic drawings and blueprints. That took most of the time. I also had small things come up in between that. I had a map change and also a sign for the Sports Lab that would be printed out four feet by six feet.

Wednesday, July 27
A lot of the employees here are getting ready to head to St. Joes for training camp but I will be staying in KC to design more stuff to get ready for season. Today I had to do a total of four maps and make sure they were ready for print. I also did another version of the postgame family pass because the first was too simple. I also did a lot of editing getting things ready for print, mostly sNAP and yearbook ads. Each one goes through so many different people for approvals so there are constant changes.
Tuesday, July 26
Tuesday was not as busy as most days, and if it was I just didn't notice. We had more web ads to finish for the KC Star since the lockout is over. Some other projects were a post game family pass for family and friends to have after the games so they could get access to see the players. I also spent time resizing some yearbook ads to SNAP size. Everyone is gearing up for training camp so I spent a lot of time editing stuff putting dates and details on things. Its about time for some football.

Monday, July 25
Since I was gone on Friday I felt out of the loop a bit coming back. I had to follow up about some previous projects, a back to football invite, a premium seating pass, a map update for the Kenney Chesney concert, and much more. The day got off to a fast start for sure. In the morning I fixed the premium seating pass after it had been revised by the printer, I changed some text on a flyer I had previously done (they changed ticket prices), converted a pdf into a jpg (easy) and then worked on finalizing a yearbook ad...the stadium tours. After all of this it was the afternoon and I was assigned a new project. It was another powerpoint where I was photoshopping images for the OWNER of the Chiefs to see. Talk about cool. I was pumped. I worked on this the remainder of the day.
Thursday
Thursday was a busy day because I was getting Friday off. That means there was a lot to do. But what else is new. On top of me leaving on Friday, my boss was gone today for the price check. It was hectic to say the least. I did a lot of phone calls, organizing, and little things that I dont seem to do while she is here. She is always very busy and I can see why. I did have to do some designing too. I had to resize our yearbook ads to fit into our gameday magazine the "SNAP." I did about 12 ads resizing them smaller. It was nothing too hard but took time none the less. I also did another back to football invite and a back to football ad. Lets hope the lockout end soon. On top of this I also did a whole new yearbook ad for the team store. This was pretty cool because I had free reign on what to do.

Wednesday, July 20
Wednesday was a pretty busy day and seeing that my boss was going for a print price check in Pittsburg Kansas, I knew I needed to get a lot done. We had yet another revision to the premium seating pass but I think we are done with it now so that is good. I also came back with text revisions to the community champions flyer. Essentially, more people see it and everyone has revisions so it takes a while for approvals. The big project thought was a t shirt design for the Cheerleaders. The shirt would be for the August 12th preseason game versus Tampa Bay. This is "Spirit Day" and this years theme is old school hip hop. This project took most of the day and I really like the design I came up with. I think it is pretty cool and definitely sticks to the theme. The cheer coach seemed to really like it so it felt like I did some good.....for once.
Tuesday, July 6
Another day full of work. The first order of business was the premium seating pass. We got word back that we would be printing them in a special printer in house so we had to make some adjustments. The adjustments included changing the whole template. Essentially, I took an older ticket that went through the same printer and used that as a template. Then we took the necessary information and put it on the new pass. We also had changes to the back to football email headers so that took time as well. I also started a new project, a flyer for the "Chiefs Community Champions." It didnt take long but the majority of time spent was getting the text layout right and looking good.

Monday, July 18
Today was probably the most productive day I have had. I was doing projects left and right. We are hoping the lockout ends this week so people are starting to have more and more requests. Today was really about finishing up alot of things we have before these requests come in. The first thing was a minor revision on the additional card for the alumni event. I got this done and out of the way before 9. I also had to send off the premium seat ticket and a photo edit for someone. The photo edit was simple, just adjusting colors, brightness, contrast, etc. I also worked on a series of email headers for back to football campaign. These probably took the most time.

Friday, July 15
Fridays are usually really busy because everyone wants to squeeze things in before the weekend. I spent this Friday on multiple projects including an additional card to the alumni event invites I made. We were making another RSVP card for special guests. This did not take long. I also made a premium seating pass for suite holders that would be used. It is a ticket format and was fairly simple. We are just waiting on approvals.
Thursday, July 14
Thursday was actually not as busy as most days, I definitely had a lot of things on my plate but the mood and pace was a bit more lax. I did have a lot of things to get done though and I jumped right on them.

Wednesday, July 13
Busy busy here in KC, same old story I guess. Today was filled with revisions and technical stuff. I had to go back to the Alumni invite and make formatting changes so we could print duplex in house. This required me to be with the actual person ensuring the prints were ok. On top of this we changed the format of the wristbands I had been working on and had to revise those. Basically we made the "Founders Suite" text bigger and subsequently everything changes in the process. Other than those two things I also had to finish up a map of a suite i have been working on and send that off. It did not take too long but none the less it took time and time adds up! After that I had to finish up training manual covers and fix printing issues with that. It was a hectic day but probably the most educational?...If that makes sense. I really got a feel for the process behind things and how sometimes you just make it work.

Tuesday, June 12
Today I had multiple things on my list but it seemed I didn't get to them until the last hour of the day. I started working on one of them, a map creation for a suite at the Stadium, but then I got back some prior things, the Alumni Invites and RSVP's, that needed tweaked and resized. We also decided to print them in house instead of the original option. This way we could save a lot of money. So I had to put multiple pages onto a single 8.5x11 doc and put my own crop marks, etc. This took a while considering there was a front and back and we needed to have correct logistics. I sent these off and am still waiting for approval. I also did a backdrop for training camp that will hopefully (cross your fingers) will be used. After the backdrop I had to rework some of those photoshopped images that would be used in the presentation for the president of the Chiefs. This took a long time because they needed to be just right and we added another page. After this I finished the day editing the training manual covers that we had gotten back. There were just small changes. What a day.

Monday, July 11
My boss came back from vacation today so early on we went over everything I did over her break and made sure it looked good and was ready for approvals. I showed her everything I had been doing and the early half of the morning was spent fixing small things. I had to change text on the prohibited items illustrations, changes to the training camp map, training camp passes, wristbands....the list was big. It took from 9 to about 12 for all these changes. The latter part of the day I made a new training camp background the teams would use at press conferences. I also worked on a sticker that would be used for game seat tickets.

Friday, July 8
Today was another busy day filled with revisions. I continued to work on the illustrations for prohibited items but that soon stopped as we got the proof back for the manual. I had to go back and make more revision, mostly grammatical stuff. Along with this I also had to make six covers for different training manuals. It was easy because we used the same cover and were only changing the titles on each. I got a lot done including these covers (for now), illustrations, yearbook ad revisions and a map for the owners suite. Happy weekend followers.
Thursday, July 7
I spent most of Thursday doing the illustrations for allowed/prohibited items. There are alot of them so it took a majority of the day. In between that I tried to do some other things as well like correcting a small ad and doing a home opponents banner that would be used in various things. I also am working on maps of the suites located in Arrowhead stadium and have been doing this for four weeks now. It is a slow process of building these. They are almost like schematic drawings that architects use and we want to make them simpler and more...design-y? You get the point.
Wednesday, July 6
I spent the day really trying to shorten this list I have by getting all the small tasks done. I had to finish changes to the yearbook ads and also edit some wristbands. I got those done and started to work on some new stuff, like maps and illustrations that would be used for prohibited and allowed item pdfs used during gamedays. However, in the meantime a project my boss had done needed to be edited and since she was gone I took control. It was a manual for suite holders and was going to print today. I got my first taste of being my own boss when I had to speak with the printing company and get everything squared away. Not a bad day at all..

Tuesday, July 6
I had Monday off for the 4th so this week will be shortened. Also, this week my boss is out of town so I take control of the graphic design duties until next Monday. Before she left she gave me a big list of things to do to keep me busy, working away until she comes back. I still have some changes I need to do for the banner pictures so I worked on those today to finalize those. I also have a huge list to start. I have wristbands, cheer website buttons, maps, a banner for "Red Friday" that will be used in a elementary school, changes to yearbook ads. changes to training camp parking and credential passes, illustrations, training manual cover pages, and also a training camp backdrop. I have a lot to accomplish so today I spent time getting the changes done to the passes along with the yearbook ads. I also started to revise the wristbands.

Friday, July 1
Busiest day of the year. period. Everyone is squeezing things in before the 4th so Friday was unreal. I had to finish these the invites after we got our revisions back and also work on these banner images for the powerpoints. In between we had to tweak the incident card and send that off to the printer. Most of the things had to get sent off to print so we were rushing and racing the clock. It was a crazy day but awesome none the less. I have been working on some really cool things and I am very lucky, it has been a great experience.
Thursday, June 30
Another busy day...these invites have been a project that has spanned quite a long time. It seems like revision after revision. But you have to keep plugging away, I think we are close to finishing and at the end of the day today we sent them off for one more approval. In the meantime of working on the Alumni invites Thursday was spent doing other small projects. I had to do a small vector based illustration and I also started a game day incident card the police would use. Always a variety of things here at the Chiefs! I also had the banners that would be used (and showed to the President of the Chiefs) to work on. Along with these banners I had five other pictures to do, adding these banners to them. Essentially, I made two banners that would be used (possibly) on the billboards inside the Stadium. Along with these I also created a fictional Bud Light Lounge area next to concessions. Confused? In the end these photoshopped pictures are a prelimenery view of what the stadium and lounge could look like. These are quite a task and will be worked on again tomorrow.

Wednesday, June 29
I can honestly say today was the most hectic and busy day in a while. I arrived thinking we would need to work on the wristbands and the banners that were requested yesterday but when i met with my boss it turned out we were changing the size on three documents for the alumni weekend rsvps, info sheet, and invite. I knew that it was going to be a busy day. We had to get some more details on the size/printing on the rsvps so I went to work on the banner that the president of the chiefs would eventually see (cool right?). I really impressed them with my first one so I wanted to do something equally as cool or even better. i worked on that for a majority of the morning and then before lunch I started on the resizing for the rsvps and all. I also had to recreate a jpg image for a power point and save it as an eps, but this took no time at all. I have been learning so much and getting a lot quicker at things. It is going really well so far and I have some cool stuff to show. I cant wait to see it all printed out. Until then...

Tuesday, June 28
Another hectic/eventful day here at the Chiefs. I came into today thinking I would finish the wristbands I had been working on but instead I was thrown completely different projects that were more important. I was eager to get to work for sure. I had been assigned to one project where I would create a fictional billboard for budweiser which I was looking forward to. Before I could get to that I had changes on the hall of honor/chief alumni weekend invites and rsvp forms. These took a big chunk of the day. I also had to make a minor change to the back of the coca cola t shirt. The rest of the day I spent creating the image used for the fictional billboard which would be on a power point. Later on when I showed my boss she said it turned out awesome and was really impressed so I was extremely happy. Today was a good day.

Monday, June 26th
Mondays always seem to be busier than most and today was no exception. I came in early and tried to finish up the wristbands I had been working on Thursday but did not get far before my daily meeting with my boss at 9. We had a lot on our plate for the day. I primarily had to finish up the hall of honor rsvp form and invites I had been working on because they had finally been reviewed and ready for revisions. Other things on my to do list was to update the season ticket holder parking pass cover and also to finish up the back of the coca cola coin toss t shirt. Some other projects were on the list but I started on the others to get them out of the way. The morning was spent on the rsvp and invite making changes and collaborating with some people to get them ready for print. I also finished up the parking pass cover before lunch. After lunch it seemed the work load kept increasing, some other projects came up and I spent time of those for the remainder of the day. It was mainly resizing or editing type so nothing too special. Tomorrow I will need to finish up the wristbands for sure. Until then...

Thursday, June 23
Today has been one of the slowest and weirdest days here at Arrowhead. A majority of the organization, including players and coaches along with front office people, went down to Joplin today to help with relief type stuff for those affected by the tornado. Only a few of us stayed back and worked on things and for the most part I only did one project all day, a rarity here. The project was to redesign wristbands for a suite here at the stadium during games. Each wristband had to be the same obviously so after coming up with a template it was pretty easy. I did wristbands for every home game, making a total of 10 wristbands. I also had to burn some cds with files on them but other than that it was just another day!
Wednesday, June 22, 2011
Wednesday, June 22
Today started off by doing some more work on the Coca Cola Coin toss t shirt. I already have four options to show but I would like to have a couple more and my boss agreed. I worked on those in the morning and thoughout the first half of the day I also did a web banner for a fan invite. The invite had to be less than 99 kb for the web and in RGB obviously. After the banner I finished up the foil cover for the suite manual. After lunch I finished up the t shirts and sent them off for approval. As if I thought the kids club brochure was dead I met with another person to brainstorm on new cover ideas. The last part of the day I got feed back from people about the t shirts and they had picked up one to "tweak." I spent the rest of the day tweaking that.
Friday, June 17
No work for me today. I am off to a job interview in St. Louis with a marketing company. Wish me luck!

Friday
Changes/revisions/ad-ons/etc is what I did for most of the day on Friday. The tickets needed dates changed, sentence add ons and other things. It may sound small but for twenty six tickets it was a lot! I also finished up the Taylor Swift ad as well as the Fall classic. I got them approved by my boss, she thought they were cool which is a plus, so now the next step is to get more approvals.
Thursday
I finished up the parking passes and training camp credentials late in the day on Wednesday and today I sent a follow up email asking to get any feedback/changes to be done. Again I started to plug away on the yearbook ads and started to make some progress on them. For the Pitt. State game I wanted to do something nostalgic/classic seeing as the game is called "The Fall Classic." so today I started working on it and trying to come up with something cool to show my boss. I am also working on the MU vs. KU game ad but think I will need to scrap my current idea and come up with something better. I guess we will see!
Wednesday
I came in on Wednesday and went right to work on the MU vs. KU ad until our daily meeting at 9:00. It was then when I got assigned some new projects. One of them was to revamp our training camp sticker credentials and our single game parking passes. Both of these have multiple pages and versions that need to be done but following a previous template made the project easier. All the while of doing this project I also worked on the yearbook ads including the Taylor Swift, Pittsburg State vs. Northwest Missouri State game, and the back to training camp ad. I am really excited about these yearbook ads because it is something right up my alley. Limited text and heavy photo/image creation.
Tuesday
Today I arrived at the Chiefs and got an email saying the t shirt got approved and they love it. It felt really good to get that kind of approval. The morning was spent on the yearbook ads I had been assigned and my boss told me I was to get all these done by Friday. I got right to work on the MU vs. KU ad and spent the majority of the day on that. We are limited on pictures, logos, and other things we can use on this because it is a college team and they only send us a limited amount of stuff. Hopefully I can come up with something really cool and get approved.

Monday
Today I came to work and tweaked the Junior Cheerleading shirts I had done on Friday. On Friday we weren't really close to having options, I only had one strong design really so my boss had me do more today and I came up with some great stuff. She was proud of me! It felt good to succeed. We are going to show the cheer coach and some other important people and see what they think. I also worked more on the MU. vs. KU game yearbook ad and a small map change.
Friday
I spend today starting the MU. vs. KU game yearbook ad and finishing the Taylor Swift yearbook ad. I also did numerous little things...so many I cant remember when it comes time to blogging (so many things to do!)
thursday
I arrived to work eager to finish my t-shirt designs for "Spirit Day" when we realized, my boss and I, that they were not due until August. We decided to immediately switch gears and start on other projects. The other projects include a re-size of an ad, a new brochure based on previous ads we had done and three yearbook ads, 8.5 x 11, that will be in the Chiefs 2011 yearbook. I am excited to start these considering one is the Pitt. St. vs. Northwest football game thats going to be at Arrowhead. Should be a really cool assignment. The other two are a Taylor Swift concert ad and the MU. vs. KU border war game. I cant wait to start on these.
Wednesday
Just as I thought I would be done with the Kids Club brochure Wednesday was spent "finishing up" on it. Will the madness ever end??!!!! Just kidding it has been fine, I think today we are finally finished with it and ready to move onto other things. The next thing on the agenda was to make changes to the new tshirt design. The rest of the day was spent doing these changes.

Tuesday
Kids Club Kids club Kids club..it has been all I think about since last week and it still needs more work. We are close but still need to tweak a few things. It seems as if the type always needs "massaging." If you move one thing, then all the type gets messed up. Oh well. I continued to work on that all day while also getting back the tshirt approvals. They went with a simple design, but it still looks good. Definitely a re-wearable tshirt.
Friday
The days get mixed up with all the work around here. It has been crazy all week and Friday may have been the craziest. The day seemed to be filled with little stuff, fixing maps, resizing logos, and photoshopping logos into pics...all stuff that is pretty common. The only thing is that on top of these small projects, we still needed to work on Kids Club brochure. It has been going on and on and on. Changes still need to be done though and whenever it gets approved by one person, it seems another needs more changes. Hopefully we can move on and start on something else. I was also assigned a employee appreciation day tshirt design request and worked on that friday. We gave the head people three options and on tuesday we will see what they picked! Whoo! Happy weekend to all.

Thursday, May 26th
I started working on the Kids Club brochure as soon as I got to the stadium and didn't stop for quite a while. After meeting with my boss, she told me I would only be working on the Kids Club brochure because this was our main priority. I have made a lot of progress since yesterday and it is almost done.
Wednesday, May 25th
Hello blog followers (Rusty). Today was just another crazy day here at the Chiefs. Less crazy than previous days but my "to do" list was quite long. I had a lot on my plate so the day began getting the small things out of the way. I had previously worked on some merchandise, pins to be exact, earlier last week but today I spent time fixing them and shipping them out again to get approved. That didnt take long but just something little that eventually gets lost. For the most part I was working on the Chiefs Kids Club brochure all day, trying to make some headway on that. In between that I got more request, maps, web banners, and another brochure which I hope to start by Friday. The Kids Club ad is taking longer than I thought it would but as of now I really like how it is turning out. Until next time..

Tuesday, May 24th
Beginning the second week here at the Chiefs organization gave me a weird feeling because it feels like I have been here for years. I am finally all settled in and accustomed to whatever is thrown my way. Today I continued working on a brochure I was assigned earlier. It is for the Chiefs "Kids Club." I am continually working on it trying to make it appeal to kids and adults which can be tricky. You don't want to make it too kiddy or too adult and text heavy so kids aren't interested. Originally it was only two pages in a brochure but at the end of the day yesterday we decided to go to a tri-fold brochure, front and back since there was a lot of text. We were having a tough time getting all of the text on two pages so the tri-fold was the best option. It is working out a lot better and needless to say I think things are heading in the right direction. Other assignments I worked on today were 2011 training camp parking passes and ID passes. These were very simple seeing that we are using last years template and just changing dates and logos. These were an easy assignment but I was happy to do them.

Monday-5/23
I am so busy all day that I sometimes lose track of all that I do, especially blogging. But today was fairly slow (I couldn't believe it) compared to other days. Today I focused on finishing the Hall of Honors/Stadium Tours brochure. I had a few changes to make and I had to finangle (spelling?) some type until it looked just right. I finally got it done and it is now going through the approval process. With the Chiefs, it has to get approved multiple times. It goes all the way to the top office before it gets sent out. And if one thing is wrong, for example, a logo is slightly tweaked...they know and you will have to do it over. It is very professional and a great experience for me. The other part of the day was finishing the 3x3 logos, license plate, and to start a new brochure for the "Kids Club." This brochure was to appeal to kids but ultimately be readable for parents too. I am still working on this and will continue to for the week.
Friday-Day Four
Well I can't believe my first week is over, it flew by. There is always something to do and work that needs to be started/finished. I mostly worked on the on the hall of honors brochure and tried to finish that which I think I am almost done with it. I showed my boss in the early stages and she really liked the idea so I hope it turns out good. This is the first project that I really got to do whatever I wanted from start to finish, well..for the most part. I am having a great time learning how a company runs its graphic design program and everything in between. I had a lot of tiny requests such as a license plate with the words "ticket shareholders" and a 3x3 inverse of a black and white logo. Other things were vector illustrations of the Chiefs mascot and vector silhouettes of dancing cheerleaders, which I didn't mind doing....
A lot of little things throughout the day add up and make it go by so quick. Hopefully I can finish the hall of honors brochure and have it done by Monday.

Day Three
Today was the best thus far. Actually creativity occurred. It was great. I finally got to start on the brochure page which is for the "Hall of Honors." I gave it sort of a nostalgic/retro feel adding to the history aspect of the hall itself. My boss seemed to like it a lot so I felt good about myself. Yay. The day was not as busy either but that may just be because I am getting use to the pace. (Yes, I realize it has only been three days) Other tasks I did was redoing some maps of the stadium to accommodate the Taylor Swift and Kenney Chesney concert this summer as well as finishing those player bios. Those were a lot of fun to do and I enjoyed doing something I can actually see on the website! They should be on there soon. I'll post pics. Get excited.
Day Two
The second day of my internship was just as eventful as my first. I was ready to continue on some of the projects I was assigned but just as I thought I would continue on those projects I got a whole new list of things to do. The first on that list were the player bio's for the new rookies the chiefs drafted. Since they did not have photos yet or numbers, I had to use college photos sent to us. A majority of the time was spent doing COB's on these players. Then I would set them into a template that was made from the existing players. I almost got done with all the players but I am still in the process of finishing these up. Hopefully I will be done by tomorrow morning. The day seemed to be filled with little tasks here and there but nothing too big. I spent time resizing logos or putting logos on things. However, I did make an announcement flyer for a special kickoff event which went on the web. This of course was done in RGB and at 72 resolution. This is important to know! (Not really for anyone who isn't a graphic designer.) The days seem to fly by with all this work. I haven't gotten to do anything totally creative but I am still assigned to the brochure page which I need to come up with. Let's see where that goes..

Day One
Today was my first day and it was eventful if anything. The day was full of tasks ranging from line art illustrations, merchandise design, web banner design, amongst other things. Aside from design work the day was filled with meeting the rest of the Chiefs staff. What a great place to work. The people were very nice and seem like they will be great co-workers. Currently, I am the only intern working with the rest of them starting on the 23rd. I am excited to meet them and hopefully bond with them as well. The first day went very well with the help of my boss, Ashley. She really helped me out getting settled in.
One of the bigger thing I did on my first day was design a popcorn bucket for one of the home games which celebrates 8 famous ex-Chief players who are being inducted into the Chiefs hall of fame. The bucket is a great assignment because it involves hands on work as well as computer graphic design. Primarily I have been using Illustrator to put the pieces together and photoshop to deal with the photos used on the box.
I was also given an assignment for Friday which involves a brochure page, front and back, concerning the chiefs hall of fame. This will be my first project all designed by myself with no limitations. More details to come later.
Overall, it was a great day and I am excited to intern with the Chiefs all summer.

May 15, 2011
Tomorrow is the start of my internship for the Kansas City Chiefs. I am pretty excited to get to work finally. Getting moved in to my room took longer than I thought but I think I am finally all settled in and ready to drive to Arrowhead tomorrow. Wish me luck.
